Stay Connected to the Vine
A branch does not have
to work very hard to grow grapes. But it does have to stay connected to the
vine. Good grapes can only come from being connected to the vine. Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 11:18 the branch does not support the vine.
Instead, the vine supports the branch.” We have been rooted into the vine by
our faith. Our
relationship with Christ through His word helps us to stay connected to the
true vine. Jesus is the true vine (John 15:1). God wants us to grow in our walk
with Him. As we grow in Christ we are able to master the things which we
contend with in life. Whether it be overcoming any type of illness, anger,
depression, grief or loneliness, our trust in God must be stronger and
greater than our personal feelings. Ways to overcome such challenges is by staying connected to the vine and that is through prayer and studying God’s Word. Prayer is our lifeline it helps us to
be in communion with God; on the other hand, prayerlessness cuts off your connection with God. And to spend time in the Word you don’t have to be a scholar
to read verses of the Bible. Start with prayer and then read some verses or a
chapter or two until you begin an active study pattern. It is one of the best
ways to stay connected. Fruit and blessing come through our connection with Christ. If the branches are cut off from the tree, they can
withered and be unable to produce fruit. This is how it is in the spiritual realm, if we are cut off
from God, and then our power source is cut off. As we stay connected to the
vine we tap into the unlimited resources of God. Stay connected to the vine.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, strengthen our relationship with your Son so that we may
continue to stay connected to the vine. Help us to continue to be productive
and fruitful in our walk for You. Teach us how to pray with out ceasing and to study your word, let this become a daily routine in our lives. Thank you for grafting us to the True Vine,
from whom all blessings flow. In
Jesus Name, Amen.
