Press On-The Heavenly Goal
The Apostle Paul pictured
himself in a race, straining every nerve and muscle exerting every ounce of
strength like a runner in a race. The
one thing an athlete has in their mind is to win. The runner sees himself crossing the finish line
and winning the race. Paul’s goal as
ours should be to get to know Christ.
In this scripture the believer is reminded to press for the prize of a
high calling in Christ Jesus. We should
totally depend on Christ it was the mission of Paul to please our Lord and Saviour
even if it cost him his life.
The one thing Paul knew is that the
churches needed him. The scriptures
remind us that Paul suffered much in his body from stoning and beatings. When he was in prison, he wrote that his mind
was on Paradise and his desire to leave the earth. Yet, he knew he had to press into the call
upon his life; to depart or remain his life was in Gods hands. He kept his eyes on the day of vindication knowing
one day the tables would turn and the persecutors would reap what they have shown. The analogy of a runner who focuses on the
goal ahead of him prevents distractions and stumbling.
As a believer during this pandemic we must stay focused on our prize/our crown. We are not to worry about death due to this invisible attacker corona virus. We must live until the good Lord calls us home to receive our prize eternal life. During this season of uncertainty in 2020 we will focus on what we have been taught as Christian’s. We will focus on the days ahead to live for Christ until we meet him in the air. The pandemic has us pleading the blood of Jesus over our households and friends. This life’s path today we do not know what tomorrow holds for us, but this one thing we do know is we must endure because in God we trust. We will press on, that is our Heavenly goal to make Heaven our home. This is a race and we will win as we the children of God remain focused on our heavenly prize. We press, we chase, we run, we pursue, and we will win in this race called life.
We look forward to the GREATEST
prize of an all-knowing Christ and the crown that awaits us. This world is not our home we are pilgrims
passing thru knowing heaven is our focus.
We press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus.
Pressing through the
pandemic blessed,
Evangelist Rosetta Cooper, House of Prayer
Rosetta and Lola, "I am pressing toward the mark of the High calling of Christ Jesus."
