A Comeback to Wholeness

If you have been broken and been mistakenly judged   because of someone else's insecurities or failures in oneself. In life, we are always going to have critics. You can triumph over the choir of distorted beliefs and critical voices. Their judgment is not about you, it's about them. When someone is critical of you, they are covering up their insecurity. Here's the thing, something is seen in you that is not seen in themselves. Keynote:  the way we judge others is how we judge ourselves. The roots of judgments are born out of own insecurities, abandonment, lack of self-worth, rejection, hurt, and pain. No matter what refuse to settle and get rid of the things that hold you back and live out yo

Ready for the Overflow

Image
Image by PDPics from Pixabay.  Overflow is just what it says, over flow. Come on and step into the overflow. God wants to fill your cup to overflow. I want some of that overflow in my life. When you think about something flowing over its continuously or exceeding the capacity of something full, like putting water in a glass and there is no more room to fill. Water in the bible is considered as a blessing. Isaiah 44:3 promised blessings that will come from God, For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground. I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring." This is what God wants to do in our lives, fill it up with abundance spiritually, mentally, and physically. Never settle for a mini-view of God. Think abundance. The abundant life is a fruitful life. In Christ, we can have overflowing joy, overflowing grace, overflowing peace, overflowing patience, and overflowing love. All you have to do is ask, God can and will according

Yes, I did digress from my routine blogging because I am always trying to learn something new and then sometimes life gets in the way as we know things happen. I am excited about writing this one. So let's get started, are you afraid of getting out of your comfort zone. The first step in breaking out of your zone is to do it. Author Roy T. Bennett shares the quote "the comfort zone is the psychological state in which one feels familiar, safe, calm and secure. You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at your comfort zone." With that being said its time to escape your comfort zone, no one likes to move beyond their comfort zone. Comfort zones can prevent us from reaching our full potential. It's always good to get out of our comfort zone, to grow, to

Black History Fact

Drapetomania What is drapetomania, it is a term that was originated and hypothesized in 1851 by a man named Samuel Cartwright who was a medical doctor that practiced medicine in the South? He came up with this racial theory when an African slave would runaway, Cartwright considered that the slaves had a disease, a mental illness when one wanted to flee. Think about this because an African slave wanted to escape from being beaten, dehumanize, raped, and who wanted to escape captivity. They were literally diagnosed.   Below is some interesting information about Drapetomania: Southern doctors used pseudo-science to explain why slaves tried to escape while ignoring the fact that maybe they just didn't like being slaves. It’s easy to forget that up until very recently, slavery was a normal and accepted way of life. Since the beginning of recorded history, some humans have enslaved others, and people accepted it as the way of the world. It is boggling to the modern Western mind to think
